Whitening
With the tray method, we take impressions and a lab makes custom vinyl trays. You wear them with a carbamide peroxide gel for about 15 minutes a day, and the whole process takes about two weeks of daily use. Badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline stains, may take several months to improve significantly. To maintain your results, use the trays every few months.
The end result is the same whether you whiten at home with trays or in the office with Zoom!. The tray method costs about half as much as Zoom!, and there’s usually less sensitivity afterward. More about teeth whitening
Veneers
A veneer covers the visible front of a tooth. It can be done two ways:
- Direct: composite resin is bonded to the front of the tooth, usually called bonding.
- Indirect: usually two appointments. We prepare the teeth, take impressions and place a temporary covering, and a dental lab makes very natural-looking porcelain or pressed-ceramic veneers.
